Private Pilot Certificate

A Private Pilot Certificate [PPL] is the first major step for individuals who want to become pilots. It allows you to fly an aircraft for personal use, recreation, or to carry passengers, but not for commercial purposes or compensation.

A Private Pilot Certificate [PPL] allows you to fly anywhere in the United States. A Private Pilot can take friends, and family on their flights. As long as you meet the requirements, a Private Pilot can fly both during day and night under Visual Flight Rules [VFR]

Becoming a Private Pilot is a very challenging and rewarding process. Learning to fly is intellectually stimulating, offering the chance to master a skill many people dream of. The Private Pilot Certificate is a fundamental step for the career in aviation. Being a Private Pilot opens the door to many new exciting adventures, allowing you to fly to new destinations. A Private Pilot Certificate is the gateway to the world of aviation, offering personal and professional opportunities.

Commercial Pilot Certificate

A Commercial Pilot Certificate [CPL] allows you to be compensated for your flying services. It is the next step after earning a Private Pilot Certificate and is a critical milestone for anyone aspiring to make a career in aviation.

As a Commercial Pilot you are allowed to fly for compensation or hire. This includes jobs such as arial tours, banner towing, agricultural flying, photography flights, and more. A Commercial Pilot Certificate is a requirement for those who want to eventually become Airline Transport Pilots [ATP].

With your Commercial Pilot Certificate [CPL], you can go on to become a Certified Flight Instructor [CFI], which is a great pathway for building flight hours and experience. The training for a Commercial Pilot Certificate involves more advanced maneuvers, precision flying, and knowledge of commercial regulations, this leads to a greater level of skill and professionalism.

What Is A Discovery Flight?

A Discovery Flight is an introductory flying experience designed for those curious about aviation. It allows potential pilots to take the controls of an aircraft under the guidance of a certified flight instructor. During the flight, you'll get hands-on experience with basic maneuvers, learn about the aircraft's instruments, and enjoy the thrill of flying. It's a great way to explore whether becoming a pilot is right for you while experiencing the excitement of flight firsthand.

What to Expect on Your Discovery Flight!

For your first Discovery Flight, you can expect a thrilling and informative introduction to flying. The experience typically begins with a pre-flight briefing, where I will explain the basics of the aircraft, safety procedures, and what to expect during the flight. The student will then participate in a pre-flight inspection to learn about the plane’s components. Once airborne, the student will take the controls under my supervision, practicing simple maneuvers like turns and level flight. The flight lasts about 60 minutes (1.0 Hobbs Time), ending with a post-flight debriefing to review the experience and discuss next steps in flight training. It's a relaxed, hands-on introduction to the world of aviation. The ground instruction portion typically lasts approximately 20 minutes.
